Every iteration, except the first, begins with an iteration plan. An iteration plan specifies the scenarios, quality of service requirements, and bug allotments that are scheduled for the iteration. In the first iteration, the second iteration is planned. In the second iteration, the development and test team work on the tasks that they have chosen from this plan. Meanwhile, the third iteration is planned. In this way, there is only one checkpoint, the end of one iteration and the beginning of another. The retrospective and iteration planning meeting mark this checkpoint.
